A wonderfully told story about the impact a kindly stranger has on a local community. His uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time to offer refreshing encouragements to individuals facing life’s crises has a profound impact on almost the entire town, over many decades.
The book, based on a true story, describes the author’s sporadic encounters with this stranger, Jones, interspersed with tales of how Jones’ “chance” meetings with others in the town brought fresh perspective to many hopeless situations, setting people’s apparently hopeless lives on new tracks.
Brilliant written the book draws you in to the character of Jones (not Mr Jones, just Jones) and the reader begins to grasp with clarity the joy of life which Jones reveals to those he meets.
This extremely well written book is able to weave a great story with some profound life lessons. It is easy to read, entertaining and challenging, with erudite nuggets of truth to ponder in every chapter along the way.
Highly recommended and made me want to get hold of Andy Andrew’s other books.
